Neoprene is a foamed rubber, in the context of which it is possible to consider small pores with air. This material is ideal for sewing clothes of divers and underwater hunters, however, to preserve the appearance of the equipment, its operational properties, you need to know some rules for caring for such things.

Desalination and washing

Once you have left the pond and removed the suit, it must be rinsed in fresh water. Usually athletes carry a separate container for these purposes. If this cannot be done immediately, then soak it in fresh water for 15-20 minutes before washing the wetsuit at home. From salt, the material becomes brittle over time, is quickly damaged, and prolonged soaking removes small crystals from the tissue structure.

Heavily soiled clothing should be cleaned more thoroughly. But before you wash your neoprene suit, read the manufacturer's recommendations. Typically, these things require several conditions:

  • Machine wash is strictly contraindicated, as tissue creases can form.
  • Recommended water temperature is 28-30 ° ะก.
  • Set aside detergent, use special shampoos for neoprene or mild baby shampoo.
  • Avoid rubbing the fabric.

Ideal - leave the clothes soaked in soapy water for 15-20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and hang them up for ventilation. It is recommended to do the washing no more than 1-2 times a month (in principle, it depends on the degree of contamination of the thing and the intensity of its use).

Let's give some recommendations on how to dry a wetsuit for spearfishing:

  • Choose shaded spots, but well-blown ones.
  • If drying clothes in an apartment, then place it away from heating appliances, windows with direct sunlight.
  • Use a special hanger for such things, you can replace it with soft shoulders (but in no case an iron hanger, from which clothes are pulled out and damaged).

There are certain recommendations regarding the issue of how to store a wetsuit for spearfishing. The most important:

  • Clothes can not be folded, otherwise bends will form.
  • The suit is placed vertically on a hanger, it is advisable to cover it with a cover to avoid contact with other things.
  • Periodic ventilation will not interfere.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF WETSUIT

More recently, we talked about how to choose the wetsuit. The presence of a wetsuit in your wardrobe is not only an expensive pleasure, because a wetsuit is your faithful friend who can save you from freezing and discomfort when riding. And in order for him to please you as long as possible, it is necessary to observe several simple rules, which we will describe in this article.

The wetsuit differs from ordinary clothes primarily in material. It is made of neoprene - a waterproof, soft and flexible material that requires some care.

We recommend rinsing the wetsuit every time after riding in fresh water, preferably warm. Try not to squeeze it during washing, but rinse it from top to bottom. You can brush the zippers with a brush and get rid of dirt. Sometimes a wetsuit needs to be washed, however, set the appropriate mode and use powders without bleach or natural soap, or even buy a special shampoo.

It is better to dry the wetsuit in a straightened form on the crossbar to avoid wrinkles, which can later turn into holes. By hanging the wetsuit on a rope or hanger there is a risk that it will stretch under its own weight, since a wet wetsuit is very heavy. It is advisable to dry inside out in a well-ventilated place.

It is worth storing and drying the wetsuit in places without direct sunlight and high temperature drops. Storage temperature should not exceed 25C. If it is not possible to store the wetsuit in a straightened form, then it can be neatly folded along the folds of the sleeves and legs (envelope). Do not place heavy objects on your wetsuit, do not leave it crumpled or twisted.

Check your wetsuit for damage in a timely manner, so it will be easier for you to prevent and repair them. Wetsuit zippers can be periodically lubricated with beeswax or synthetic silicone.

Wetsuit - a very delicate thing. The condition of the wetsuit and its service life will depend on your care. And remember that this is primarily your comfort!
